Even a genuine copy cannot install anything today.

Team Vanced ended the project in March 2022 and shut down the servers Vanced Manager downloaded from. The manager can no longer fetch YouTube Vanced, Music or microG, whichever version you have.

What the 2.6.2 release contains

The release page for tag v2.6.2-262 (opens in a new tab) lists two assets, both generated automatically by GitHub from the source code. Checked .

  • Availablev2.6.2-262.zipSource code (zip): the app's Kotlin source at this tag.
  • Availablev2.6.2-262.tar.gzThe same source in a different archive format.
  • Not attachedmanager.apkThe installable app. The in-app updater's old link now ends in “Not Found”.

The 2.6.2 source still contains the self-update address releases/latest/download/manager.apk; GitHub resolves it to the 2.6.2 release, which has no such file. A source archive is not an APK and cannot be installed on a phone.

Our policy

Why there is no APK button here

We offer a direct download only when a file can be traced to its original developer and checked against something they published. Vanced Manager fails both tests.

  • 01

    The source removed it

Team Vanced took down its download links after a cease-and-desist letter from Google, and no APK is attached on GitHub.

  • 02

    Nothing to verify against

The shutdown notice told users to check downloads against the team's published hashes. Without an original file or a still-published hash, a copy found today cannot be verified.

  • 03

    It would not help you

The manager's only job was downloading apps from a backend that no longer exists. Installing it gives you an installer with nothing to install.

Found a Vanced Manager APK somewhere else?

Copies of old Vanced files still circulate on mirror sites, forums and file lockers. Some may be untouched originals; others may be repackaged. Before installing anything, ask:

  • Where did it come from? A file with no clear chain back to Team Vanced is a stranger's upload, whatever the page claims.
  • Does it claim to be new? Any “2026”, “latest” or “new version” label on Vanced Manager is false: 2.6.2 was the final release.
  • What permissions does it want? An installer asking for accessibility, SMS or device-admin rights is a red flag.
  • What does Play Protect say? If Google Play Protect warns about the file, stop. Do not switch protection off to get around it.

The install guide covers Android's sideloading permissions and how to tidy up afterwards.

Building from the archived source

Vanced Manager is GPL-3.0 software and its full source remains public. The project README describes building with Android Studio or the Gradle wrapper:

# from the repository root, at tag v2.6.2-262
./gradlew assembleDebug

A self-built copy is a reasonable way to study how the installer worked. It still points at the shut-down Vanced API, so it cannot install anything either.

Looking for something maintained?

Vanced Manager will not be updated again. Many people look at ReVanced Manager instead, a separate project that patches apps on your own device rather than downloading prebuilt ones. It is not made by Team Vanced. Our Vanced Manager vs ReVanced Manager comparison sets out the differences neutrally.
